Background
My name is Carey Hablous. I have been in the timber business, milling timber, making furniture and casting Aluminium for over 30 years. My business has been based in a small town in New Zealand called Waipu. Aluminium furniture component sales are made through the internet.
At one time the website was well placed in web searches and had an online shop for automated web sales. The website and business was called Tablemaker.
As the years have passed other business interests have taken precedent and stock levels have diminished.
Aluminium Furniture Components.
The Aluminium Table legs were developed to be used with timber slabs. The prototyping and product development was done in New Zealand but the stock manufacturing is done in India.
Aluminium components can be highly polished or have a brushed matt finish.
Items can also be made in Brass and Bronze.
Ordering from India
The company we deal with in India is professional and capable. Communication is via email and WhatsApp. They are willing to develop new products to suit a customers requirements and also have a suit of their own designs.
When ordering table legs minimum quantities apply, usually in the region of 80 - 100 units.
Payment arrangements are negotiated with the exporter but full payment is required prior to shipping. Prices are quoted in USD, FOB (Freight on Board) Mumbai.
The Importer (buyer) will need to engage a shipping agent and allow for import duty (if any) and freight costs.
The components are individually wrapped, protected with bubble plastic and double boxed. The boxes are easily manhandled.
What you will need
As someone who has already reached out to buy cast aluminium table legs, you will already have an interest in making furniture. Either in the mode of Cam at Blacktail Studio or more rustic tables using timber slabs or easy solution focused furniture using off the shelf laminated timber slabs.
To import and distribute these furniture components as a business you will need.
Patience. Dealing with India is not instant. Items are made specifically for your order, the goods are shipped by sea, and there are the clearance delays through the entry port.
Storage Room. Somewhere to put the boxes once you get them.
Website. A website for selling the legs to other users. I use WIX.
Social Media. As is demonstrated with Blacktail Studio, confidence and an interest in using social media is essential.

Why I am selling
I recognise that the new interest in making amazing tables with epoxy resins offers a fantastic opportunity to sell these table legs. Unfortunately though, I cannot take advantage of this demand.

I am getting too old. I have been selling the legs since the 1990's and new blood is needed.

Transport costs make it uneconomic to bring the products to New Zealand then re-distribute them internationally. It would be much more efficient for them to be shipped directly to the country or region in which they will be used.

Social Media plays a huge role in successful marketing of a product such as this and I have no expertise (or desire) in this area.

Price
I'm hoping to get $5000 USD but I don't really know. Whatever someone is prepared to pay I guess.
